Live Webs Developed using Cobra-cms

School Uniforms DirectSchool Uniforms Direct is an on-line store developed using Cobra-cms and the cost-effective Shopping Cart called RomanCart. The store deals with approximately fifty schools, with up to twelve items of clothing per school. Add to this the range of sizes per item, the weight calculations for postage and the variable VAT rate depending on size and the project is interesting and complex.

The store is in the process of being redesigned and will be significantly changed at the end of 2008, or earlier.

CD Consultancy Web SiteCD Consultancy is a Carlow based Management Consultancy company. The site is a four page brochure site, designed to be simple with a fluid layout. The site was developed using Cobra-cms, so it can be edited and expanded easily by the company. The design is adapted from the work of Eric Meyer in 'More Eric Meyer on CSS'. The semi transparency of the banner is created by using three css images, which is impossible in conventional design.

Patrick Randall ArtistPatrick Randall is a well known artist who has been living in Co Kilkenny for many years. His work has been exhibited all over the world. The aim was to produce a showcase for his work on the Web, with sections for current work and a retrospective. The site uses a combination of traditional and Web standards techniques.

Patrick's site is always under development and the latest version moves away from Cobra-cms for a while and uses advanced Web 2.0 (Ajax) extensively.

Seven Oaks HotelThe Seven Oaks Hotel is a long established hotel three minutes walk from the centre of Carlow town. The hotel has had a large extension completed in August 2006 and wanted a new Web site to offer more information about the hotel and the local area.

The hotel has a Health and Leisure complex called Greenbank, so the decision was made to promote both aspects of the hotel's activities on the same site. Cobra was used to provide two menu systems, one for each part of the site. Also, because of the ease of site maintenance, much more detail was provided for potential customers, such as current menus, restaurant prices, room rates, etc.

The Home page had a simple Javascript slide show, which made the loading slower but the hotel believed that it is an attractive feature for their clients.

The hotel traded successfully with the Cobra-based site for three years, but decided to break its association with Ballybar Solutions after the company relocated to the UK.

Askea GNSAskea Girls' National School kindly offered to participate in a project to see how Cobra-cms can be used to develop a school Web site. In return for the school site being an examplar site, the school benefitted from free software, development time and maintenance.

Cobra-cms is an ideal solution for schools, because it provides a cost-effective Web site that can be maintained and developed in-house.

The school cooperated successfully with Ballybar Solutions to the mutual benefit of both parties, but decided to break its association after the company relocated to the UK.
